Artist's Biography:
Buffalo Kaplinski has trekked the world in search of beautiful vistas to paint.
In a career that has spanned over thirty years, he has recorded stunning paintings
from Greece, Israel, Peru, Alaska, Tahiti, Europe, Chile, Mexico, Guatemala,
Peru, New Zealand, and of course in his own domain of Colorado. For Kaplinski,
the world is a visual banquet, and he has striven to taste all of its delights.
His paintings give us a sampler of these pleasures. Yet, it is a sampling profoundly
influenced by Kaplinski's own unique perceptual apparatus. He believes, "Every
painting should be a unique experience for the artist to paint and the viewer
to look at." Working primarily in watercolor and oil, Kaplinski's paintings
are imbued with vibrant color and glorious light. When one views a Kaplinski
painting, you cannot escape his sense of joy in creating the work. Kaplinski
has always been a seeker, and that journey has brought him to his own religious
conversion to Christianity. "I believe my art should portray something
beautiful and pleasing, and make us aware of all the beauty the Creator has
given us to enjoy on earth." Solo Exhibitions 1998: The Colorists with
