Original antique American art in a fabulous antique frame. Attributed to a well-listed
American woman artist. We believe that this painting is by Marion Tibbets based
on several factors: 1) It came from the same collection that had many paintings
by Tibbets. 2) The palette, colors, and style of the painting are that of hers.
At any rate, this is a superb painting and extremely beautiful!
Size: oil painting on canvas 20" X 30" in superb antique ornate
gold gilded frame 25.5 X 34.5"

Provenance: Came from an estate in Denver.
Condition:
In excellent restored condition--the painting required extensive restoration
on its middle bottom quadrent.

Marion Cornilia Tibbets was born in 1873.

According to Who Was Who In American Art, she studied at Ohio State University with E. Torkner, James Hopkins, and Mabel Debra King; ASL, with D. Romanowsky and Stanley Woodward. She was a member of the Columbus Art League, Ohio Water Color Society, Rockport Assciation of Art, and NAWA. She exhibited in Columbus, Ohio. Her works are in many private collections. She taught art at Seattle Schools.
