24" X 18" oil painting on velvet. Yes, velvet! The only surface that could rival the rich textures achieved through the artist's minimal brush strokes. The fabric that is itself a major subject of the painting--please note the rich folds of blue velvet draped behind the objects of the painting. This is not a common or mass produced painting. The velvet was chosen specifically to heighten the impact of the painting and the effect could not be more sumptuous!
